It seems like they decided to open that up to all players though. Recently EA offered The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection for free only to those who had previously purchased The Sims 2. The offer is only available from now until July 31st at 10am Pacific time, so be sure to redeem your code before then if you want to be able to enjoy The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection with your Origin account. EA has announced that they will no longer support the title, which already has a sequel available and another about to release. The Sims 2 is currently not available for purchase on Origin, so if you want the game this is the only way to get it at this time. Considering how heavily The Sims franchise relies on expansions, this is a ton of content being offered for free. The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection contains the original The Sims 2 game as well as every expansion pack and stuff pack. You’ll need to download the Origin client to your PC to play the game. After you have an account follow the directions above. If you do not have an Origin account already then you can sign up for one here. Hit next again and the game will automatically be added to your account free of charge. Enter the code I-LOVE-THE-SIMS and hit next.
